Bold Text Generator
Generate bold text you can copy and paste into Instagram, TikTok, Discord, and X. Works in bios and captions where formatting is stripped.
Example — type your own text above to convert it.
A bold text generator swaps each letter for a Unicode character that is drawn in a bold weight, producing 𝗯𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝘁𝗲𝘅𝘁 you can paste anywhere plain text is accepted. Nothing is formatted — the boldness is part of the characters themselves, which is why it survives a copy-paste into an Instagram bio.

When to use the Bold Text Generator
Social platforms strip HTML and Markdown from bios and captions, so there is no legitimate way to bold text in an Instagram bio, a TikTok caption, or an X post. This generator works around that by substituting characters from the Unicode Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols block, which contains a complete bold alphabet intended for mathematical notation.
The result is real text, not an image, so it can be pasted anywhere. But there are three costs you should know before using it in anything that matters:
- Screen readers may skip it entirely. Assistive software often reads 𝗕 as "mathematical bold capital B", or announces nothing at all. A bio written in bold Unicode can be unreadable to a blind visitor.
- It is not searchable. Platform search matches literal characters, so a profile whose name is written in bold Unicode will not be found by someone typing the ordinary spelling.
- Rendering varies. Older Android builds and some desktop fonts show a placeholder box instead of the glyph.
Use it for a word or two of emphasis. Do not use it for your whole bio, your display name, or anything a reader must be able to search for or hear.
Frequently asked questions
Why does bold text work on Instagram when the app has no bold button?
Because these are not formatted characters — they are different characters. Unicode contains a full bold alphabet, so pasting them is no different from pasting an emoji.
Will bold Unicode text hurt my accessibility?
Yes, potentially. Many screen readers announce these characters by their formal Unicode names or skip them, so a bio written entirely in bold text can be unreadable to blind visitors. Use it sparingly.
Can people still search for my name if it is bold?
Usually not. Platform search matches the literal characters, so a name in bold Unicode will not match someone typing the ordinary letters.
