When to use the Square Text Generator

Squared letters are bolder and more architectural than the circled variety. They are common in gaming tags and Discord server names, where a blocky look is the point.

The block has a hard limitation: capitals only. There is no squared lowercase alphabet, so this tool maps both cases to the same boxed capital. A phrase typed in mixed case comes out uniformly uppercase, which is worth knowing before you paste it into a display name.

These glyphs are also among the least widely supported in the whole set. They live in the Enclosed Alphanumeric Supplement block, which many fonts omit entirely, so a fallback box is a common outcome on desktop. Some of them are additionally rendered as emoji on certain platforms — 🅰 and 🅱 in particular — which means your text may unexpectedly appear in colour.

Frequently asked questions

Why does square text ignore lowercase?

Unicode never assigned squared lowercase letters. Only capitals exist, so lowercase input is mapped to the same boxed capital glyph.

Why do some squared letters appear in colour?

A few of them, notably the boxed A and B, are treated as emoji on some platforms and are rendered in colour by the emoji font rather than the text font.

Why do I see empty boxes instead of letters?

These characters live in a block that many fonts omit. The text is valid, but the font on that device has no glyph to draw.
